"Enough To Live"

This is a song that I wrote to anyone who feels like they have no purpose in life, that they don't deserve to live, that they don't have a reason to live or something else like that. If you feel that way, have felt that way, or know someone who feels that way, I want you to know that you are loved by God and by me and I'm sure by other people whether it seems like it or not. You have a reason to live and you have a purpose whether you know what it is yet.

Inspiration: I wrote this song last year (2020) because I had a lot of online friends who were talking about suicide and dying. The majority of my online friends were depressed and were questioning their life and purpose. I started feeling a little helpless after trying to encourage them and be there for them so much. So I wrote this song to them and anyone else who feels like committing suicide and who are questioning life.

(Verse 1)
Hey you, I don't understand what's going on in your head
And I don't know how it feels to be you

This verse is just saying that, so many people have gone through so much that I don't understand and I probably won't understand. I don't know what it's like to have parents that are divorced, family members or friends that I know well die, not have a family, be abused, or anything like that. I've been privileged compared to many people. So yeah.

(Verse 2)
But I know enough to say, It's not enough to end this day
And I know people love and care for you

Even though I haven't gone through as much as so many people do, I know that it's not enough to give up. It's not enough that you should commit suicide or die. I know that people love and care about you whether you feel like they do or not. God loves and cares about you. And even though I may not know you, I do too. And I know other people do too.

(Pre-Chorus)
I don't know what it's like, I won't pretend I know what it's like
But I've got to ask why you're gonna give up and die

When I wrote this song, I didn't know what it was like to want to die, to want to commit suicide or harm myself, to just give up on life. And I wasn't going to pretend that I did. I don't understand, so tell me why you are just going to give up on life like that, tell me why you want to hurt yourself or kill yourself.

(Chorus)
People care for you, isn't it enough to pull through
Can't you just look in my eyes and know you've got enough to live life (x2)

God cares for you and loves you. People care for you and love you. Yes, I know, your life is hard. You may be thinking, "You don't understand.", "You don't know what it's like.", "You don't know what I've gone through.", and you're right. I don't. But I do know that there are some people out there who care. And I'm not trying to sound selfish or anything, but aren't the people who care enough to keep living for? Life isn't going to be easy because it's life. But why bring pain to so many others because you want to die. Again, I'm not trying to sound selfish or anything. So I'm sorry if I do. But yeah.

(Verse 3)
I know your life's been tough, and it's gonna get rough
But that's why I'm here to help you through it
